OHIO CIRCLE ANNUAL REUNION

Featuring the Annie Oakley Historical Exhibit, a "Potluck Picnic", a Ohio Circle Business Meeting and a special Guided Tour of the Museum. Welcomed Guests to Include Annie Oakley descendants, Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana cousins, plus other Cody Cousins and Friends of the Cody Family on Saturday, August 30, 2009 at the Garst Museum, 205 North Broadway Greenville, Ohio.

Annie Oakley, a star performer in Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show and nicknamed "Little Sure Shot" by Sitting Bull himself, was born and raised in Willowdell, a village about 6 miles northeast of Brock.

Located 40 miles northwest of Dayton on Ohio Route 49, Greenville has many restaurants and tourist accomodations. Golf courses, campsites and catfishing are also available locally.

    This Meeting's Agenda:
  • 12:00 - Social time with Introduction in the Garst Museum Meeting Room, please use the entrance by the parking lot.
  • 12:30 - Potluck luncheon in the Museum's Meeting Room, again, please use the parking lot entrance.
  • 1:30 - Ohio Circle Business Meeting and Election of Officers,
    Note: There will be no White Elephant auction at this meeting.
  • 2:00 - Welcome and Introduction to the Museum by Penny Perry, Museum Director.
  • 2:30 - Tour of the Annie Oakley Exhibit, led by Penny Perry or Marilyn Robbins, biographer of Annie Oakley and Frank Butler. Recent Additions to the exhibit include a rifle presented to Annie by Buffalo Bill and a cape presented to Annie by a Russian dignitary.

Family members can view the rest of the museum on their own, the Garst Museum closes at 4 pm, and is open on Sundays.

Other exhibits in the Garst Museum include:

  • Lowell Thomas Exhibit, including his boyhood home moved from it's original site.
  • Military Room, a collection of U.S. uniforms and artifacts from all our wars, save one.
  • Crossroads of Destiny - Treaty of Green Ville Exhibit with General "Mad" Anthony Wayne.
  • As well as other interesting historical artifacts, displays and genealogies.
