From our careful and serious study of all existing records, charts and other genealogical material, we have found that the Cody Family can only expand in male lines yet undeveloped from the following sources:
       From three sons of 4th. generation Joseph Cody 1769-1832, who married Katherine Kane, namely:
       George Cody, born 1794, married Anna Coffin.
       Barney Cody, born 1795, married Susan Burtis.
       David Cody, born 1797, married 1st., Nancy S. Kelly (or Skelly); 2nd.,
Widow Susan Sutton.
       Eben Cody, born 1797, son of 4th. generation John Cody, 1779-1835.
       Ziba Cody, born 1799, married Sarah Walker; he died 1838, and was a son of 4th. generation Daniel Cody, 1777-1846.
       Stephen Alexander Cody, born 1812, and married in 1841 at Cleveland, Ohio, to Louisa (last name unknown); he was the son of 4th. generation Isaac Cody, 1773-1848.
       Jonathan Cody, born 1769, married Jane Samden, he died 1834.
       Orrin Augustus Cody, born 1825, married either Melinda Hoffman or Melinda Michaels; he was a son of 5th. generation Darius Cody.
       We have made every possible effort to locate descendants of these above noted, but without success. Should any member of our family learn of descendants of these lines, please communicate with us.      —E. W. C.
